In what seems to be the strangest collaboration in the history of snowboarding, Reno-based Sentury Snowboards have teamed up with Microsoft to produce a line of snowboards with the ‘Bing’ logo in their graphics. The deal could double or even triple Sentury’s sales heading into next fall’s snowboard season, says Alex de Roulet, marketing and sales manager for Sentury Snowboards.
Sentury is offering Microsoft employees cost priced boards which are apparently already being snapped up.
Commercialisation of snowboarding in a post-Olympic industry or just a chance to boost sales by any means? Who knows, either way personally I am not a fan of it.
