The Goggle Gets Tech

When I first read about these insanely tech goggle all I could think about was the Flight of the Conchords song ‘Robots’, probably cause these goggles remind of the distant future! Introducing Transcend, a Recon Instruments‘ collaboration with Colorado’s Zeal Optics.

Transcend is the world’s first GPS-enabled goggles with a head-mounted display system. It provides real-time feedback including speed, latitude/longitude, altitude, vertical distance travelled, total distance travelled, chrono/stopwatch mode, a run-counter, temperature and time. Check out the clip:

Seems pretty full on, hey? Well these goggles are definitely in a league of their own and are not for everyone but it would be kinda cool to get that sort of data. There are lots of ski resorts actually building this kind of stuff into iPhone apps which is also cool. Anyway, if you want to check out more click here.
